Contrary to appearances, the woodpecker does not eat the wood but the insects that lodge inside the tree. The damage caused by the insects and the woodpecker will sooner or later require an inspection by our qualified staff.
Canker "sores"
Canker is a fungus that produces a cavity on the trunk of the tree and thereby makes it vulnerable to further growth and insects. An affected tree may break in strong winds or under the weight of snow. An inspection is required .... by an expert from the Abattage Excellence team.
Leaf and crown dieback
Wasting is the first step in the death of the tree. A lack of foliage in the tops or loss of leaves before autumn indicates that your tree is wasting away. In this case, you have two choices: the safety pruning of removing dead wood, or the felling of the tree before it becomes too dangerous. Our experts can help you make the right decision.
Cracks in the trunk or base of the tree
A crack in your tree is not to be neglected because it reveals a great weakness in its' structure. However, removal may not be the final solution. Your tree could be secured with a dynamic cable (cable system with damping of movements) installed by our pros.
Violent winds

Pitch Moth (Black nodule)
Pitch moth is a fungus that is found mostly on fruit trees such as cherry and cormier (Service tree - small red fruit). It forms black balls on branchs that will eventually kill the tree. A good pruning is necessary before it spreads.
Mechanical injury
A mechanical injury is most often inflicted by humans (lawnmower, shovel, snow removal, etc.) A broken wound like this will cause the trees to rot if it is not treated properly.
